Grace E. Kyhn, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska. Grace was born July 12, 1923 on a farm south of Dannebrog, Nebraska to Thomas H. and Nellie Edna (Wilson) Reimers.

Grace was raised on the farm and attended rural school south of Dannebrog, Nebraska graduating from the 8th grade. After her schooling she worked at home helping her family on the farm and others with their work and helping with their children. For a short time, she lived near Sutherland, Nebraska working for a ranch family.

Grace was united in marriage to Arnold Kyhn on May 9, 1945 in St. Paul, Nebraska and they had four children.

When Arnold entered the military, they lived for a short time in Texas.

On March 1, 1947 they moved to a farm north of Boelus, Nebraska where they lived for 9 years. In the fall of 1955 they moved to Otoe County, Nebraska where they farmed and their two oldest children could attend a school in Nebraska City, Nebraska for the visually handicapped.

They returned to Howard County, Nebraska in 1969 and lived on a farm south of Boelus, Nebraska where they have resided since.

Grace enjoyed painting landscapes and wildlife, sewing, gardening and raising flowers.

Grace received her GED in 1974 and took several classes at Central Community College. She loved to write and Grace became a published author at the age of 74.

Grace was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Dannebrog, Nebraska the Mickelsen Larkowski Legion Auxiliary in Dannebrog, a church quilting group, a local card club and was an EMT for the Dannebrog-Boelus EMT's and was in the first class given for their EMT training. While Arnold and Grace lived in Otoe County, Nebraska she taught Sunday School.

Grace was preceded in death by: parents; son, Laverne Kyhn; daughter, Genevieve Kyhn; sisters, Edna Lautenschlager and Dora Fries and brother, Thomas Reimers.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Dannebrog, Nebraska. The Reverend Sheri Lodel was officiator.

Interment was in Oakridge Cemetery. Dannebrog, Nebraska.
