JESSIE IRENE MILLER, 95, of Clear Spring, Md., and formerly of Maugansville, Md., passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Filcare Home. Born Aug. 19, 1918, in Coseytown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Oliver Franklin and Mary Lucetta Schenebeck Daley.
Jessie worked at several places, including Fairchild Aircraft, with her last job at Sears. She was a member of the Salem Reformed Church; American Legion Post 42 Auxiliary; Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Greencastle, Pa.; Eastern Star of Hagerstown, Md.; Maugansville Historical Society; and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She volunteered at Maugansville Elementary School and Western Maryland Hospital.
Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Edgar Miller, who passed away Feb. 16, 1991.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Rose Martin and husband, Ronnie, of Clear Spring; three grandchildren, Kathy Spangler and husband, Donald, Sharon Williamson and husband, Ted, and Brett Martin and wife, Tina; four great-grandchildren, Kristin Russo, Lindsay Spangler, Skylar Spangler and Jillian Watson; two great-great-grandchildren, Emma Johnson and Presley Hudlow; and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by four sisters, Grace Shatzer, Louise Hutzler, Annie Rudolph and Hilda Hoffman; and two brothers, Paul Daley and Richard L. Daley.
Services were held at Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown; burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
