Marie K. Amor, 87 of Fremont passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Elmwood Assisted Living, Fremont. She was born on August 27, 1926 in Fremont to Joseph & Bertha (Myers) Widman. Marie graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1944 and she later married James L. Amor on October 19, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2002.
Marie worked at Union Carbide in Fremont for 26 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont.
Marie is survived by her children; Michele & Richard Miller of Clyde, Anita & Steve Szymanowski, Michael & Connie Amor, Leslie & Randy Darr all of Fremont, Jacqueline & Gregory Zitzelberger of Clearfield, PA. grandchildren; Steve & Carrie Szymanowski, Amy & Jesse Wenning, Andrew & Jessica Szymanowski of Columbus, Angela & Anton Alexeev of Temperance, MI, Taylor Darr, Lindsay Darr of Fremont, Conner & Casen Zitelberger all of Clearfield, PA, seven great-grandchildren; Alex & AJ Alexeev, Isla & Ellie Symanowski, Emma & Stella Szymanowski, and Erin Szymanowski. She is also survived by her siblings; Ann & Joe Gottron and Pat Spieldenner all of Fremont, and Richard & Janet Widman of Gibsonburg. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James, and brothers; George, Eugene and Norman Widman, sister; Bernadette Overmyer and her grandson; Aaron Amor.
Marie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a kind and gentle person who was always willing to lend a hand. She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and celebrating the holidays with family. She especially enjoyed attending activities and supporting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont from 2-4 PM & 6-8PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Thursday, February 27, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Sandusky County Humane Society or to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
