Hays -- Adolph A. Dreiling, 75, died Sunday at St. Anthony Hospital.

A life-long resident of Ellis County, Drieling worked as a U.S. Postal employe for 37 years in Hays. When he retired in 1955 he was serving as assistant postmaster here. The World War I veteran who belonged to the American Legion and the WWI Veterans Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; a son, Frank, Hays; four daughters, Mrs. Robert E. (Viloa) Ross, Mrs. Robert J. (Mildred) Bollig, and Mrs. Marvin O. (Dorothy) Dreiling, all of Hays, and Mrs. Clarence G. (Mary Ann) Thummel, Placentia, Calif.; three brothers, William, Point Rey, Calif., Paul, Fresno, Calif., and Robert, San Francisco; six sisters, Sister Catherine, Wichita, Mrs. Regina Mondero, Lansing, Mrs. Eleanor Frank and Mrs. Hermaine Allendorf, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Matilda Dorzweiler, Denver, and Mrs. Lucy Owens, Gettysburg, S.D.; 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert, who died in 1972, and Louis.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, here. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brock's North Hill Chapel. Friends may call from 7:30 p.m. Monday until service time.
