W.A. Holly [Halley] Is Dead
Passed Away This Afternoon at 3 O'clock - Was Born in Rockton 54 Years Ago and a Farmer in Owen Until a Year Ago.
W.A. Holly, for over a half century a resident of Winnebago County died this afternoon at 3 o'clock at his home 1523 School Street. Death followed an operation for cancerous tumor performed a year ago by a Chicago surgeon.
The decedent was born in Rockton 54 years ago and moved with his parents to Owen nine years later. Farming has been his occupation from his boyhood. Twenty-two years ago he was married to Alice Armstrong. One year ago a Chicago surgeon operated on him at his home on the farm and in March Mr. Holly came to Rockford to make his home.
The deceased was one of the wealthy farmers of Owen Township and is a son of William Holly of Owen.
He is survived by a father, 87 years of age, a mother in her 92nd year, a wife and daughter, Alice 16 years of age who is in attendance at the high school.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon from the home.
