Clyde Irene Ford Sims, age 96, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Arcadia, FL. Clyde was born August 14, 1916 in Cubitis, FL, a rural community in Desoto County, to the late William and Frances Annie Roan Ford.

Clyde worked for the packing houses that no longer operate. Clyde traveled across the US with her second husband, installing missile silos and was in Roswell, New Mexico at the time of the Roswell incident. She lived on the east coast during the early years of the Apollo Space Program. She moved back to Arcadia in the early 70's, becoming a health care provider for her family and friends. She was a member of the Arcadia Church of God.

Survivors are her son; Ralph Cutchen, Arcadia, FL, sister; Jimmie Albritton, Port Charlotte, FL, seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and twenty-six great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Norma Jean Griffin.

Memorial services will be conducted at the graveside, Joshua Creek Cemetery, Arcadia, FL, on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00AM. Rev. Ellis Cross will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arcadia Tidewell Hospice, 917 No. Arcadia Ave., Arcadia, FL 34266
