Westminster, SC – Verline Hughes Morehead, 92, of 2244 Dr. Johns Road, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Heritage Health Care in Six Mile.
A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Henton and Vestea Lillie Martin Morehead. Miss Morehead worked for Dunlop in the Service Department. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she served as the church clerk, custodian, pianist and Sunday school Treasurer for a number of years; and also a member of the adult Sunday school class.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Luke and Ben Morehead; and sisters, Frances Elizabeth Craig, and Annie Louise Dickerson.
A Funeral Service will be held 3 PM, Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will have a Celebration of life where they will receive friends and family 2-8 PM, Friday, August 10, 2012 in the fellowship hall at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. They will also receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2-3 PM, Saturday at the church.
