Frank Smalley, age 81, Joplin, passed away at 11:37 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2005 at his residence.
Mr. Smalley was born January 20, 1924 in Mansfield, Missouri to the late Clarence Smalley and May James Smalley and had lived in Joplin the past 48 years. For 35 years he worked as an electronics technician at Sears, retiring in 1990. He was a member of REACT C.B Radio Club and a past Boy Scout Troop Leader. He was a past member of the Bow Hunters Club and was an avid fisherman. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He married Doris Snowden on March 17, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include children, Benjamin Wayne Snowden, Joplin, Voncille Wilkerson, Galena, Kansas, Rita Winton, Joplin, Michael Smalley, Joplin, Ginger Spellman, Mt. Vernon, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Charles King will officiate. Military honors will be provided. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Monday at Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Hospice, in care of Parker Mortuary.
