NORTHBRIDGE - Alice (Wiegersma) VanderMeer, 96, of Fuller Drive, Hudson, N.H., died yesterday in Fairview Nursing Home, Hudson, N.H.
Her husband, John W. VanderMeer, died in 1977. She leaves a daughter, Phyllis Bent of Nova Scotia and Florida; a sister, Helen Baird of Whitinsville; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was born in Uxbridge, daughter of Ringer F. and Edna A. (VanderZicht) Weigersma. She attended schools in Uxbridge and Sutton, and later attended art school for two years. She lived in Natick most of her married life, and had also spent summers in Rye, N.H., and winters in Florida.
She was a charter member of the East Natick Communty Methodist Church. While visiting Whitinsville during the summer, she attended United Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Buma Funeral Home, 480 Church St., Whitinsville. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Uxbridge. Calling hours are noon to 1 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
