~My Husband's maternal Grandfather & the only grandparent of my husband that I got to meet & know-the only Grandpa he ever got to know. Life & all it's irony, he also passed away on my birthday.~

To John & me, he was a very sweet man. He really seemed to like me, he always had a big smile for me.
He wasn't always that way to others because he wasn't happy being in a nursing home. I can't blame him for that. He came from a generation that worked hard all their lives & weren't accustomed to sitting idle for any period of time.

Son of Josephine Charrette & Thomas D. Bruyere.

Beloved husband of Hilda Sylvia Kassube Bruyer.
They were married on September 22, 1928, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, at the side altar of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. Frank was Catholic, Hilda was not.

Beloved Father of Nancy (Frank) Davis, Gloria (Russ) Pierce, & Frank (Jackie) Bruyer.

Beloved Grandfather of Ann (David) Weber, Aimee Bruyer, & John (Kim) Davis.

Step-grandfather of Holly Herter Heron.

Served in the US Army during WWII, even though he was an older man with a wife & children. The younger men in his unit called him "Pappy" but that nickname died with the war. Like many soldiers, he did not come back unaffected.
