Martin Prough died at the home of his son, Melvin Prough of Frankstown Twp., Blair co., Sunday afternoon, Aug. 4, 1940 at 3:15 o'clock. His death resulted from the infirmities of advanced ate. Mr. Prough was born along the Raystown Branch on October 11, 1865, a son of Katherine Lininger Prough and Jacob Prough. At the time of death he was aged 74 years, nine months and twenty-three days. Surviving are the following children: Cloy, of Spruce Creek; Grace, Mrs. Harvey Showalter, of Tyrone, R.D. 1; Melvin and Martha, at home. Five brothers, David, Jesse, William, Benjamin and Levi, all of Huntingdon, also survive. There are eight grandchildren. Mr. Prough had followed the occupation of farming his entire lifetime. He was a Methodist by faith. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at Brown's funeral parlors, in charge of Rev. O.B. Poulson. Interment will be made in Riverview cemetery, directed by Brown's funeral service. Daily News, Huntingdon.
