A Margate man was hit and killed while trying to save a turtle from being run over on Boynton Beach Boulevard early Tuesday morning. Emanuel Rodriguez, 56, who was delivering newspapers in the area, pulled his van into a parking lot after seeing a turtle in the street, according to police reports. He was crossing the street when he was hit by a 1996 Mercury Sable heading west on Boynton Beach Boulevard. Rochelle Diane Roth, 61, of Boynton Beach, was driving about 35 mph when the crash occurred about 5:38 a.m., said Traffic Homicide Investigator Larry Colagiovanni of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
