Was county commissioner in 1873, one of the oldest schoolteachers in Northampton County. Resident of Upper Nazareth for over 30 years. Born in Williams Township, January 14, 1823, son of Nicholas and Catharine Woodring. His mother's maiden name was Meixell. In 1847, he married Leweina George, daughter of John and Susanna George. Survived by 4 sons and 5 daughters.
