Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Evern Wayne Stanley, 78, returned to his Father in Heaven on Sat. January 19, 2008, after a valiant battle with cancer.Wayne was born May 26, 1929, Nephi, Utah, son of Edger Earl "Ted" Stanley and Myra Mae Cox. Married Leola Turner, Sept. 16, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Active member of the LDS church, served in numerous callings including a church service mission with his wife Leola; graduate from Jordan High School and Utah Technical College. Retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 proud years of service; Korean War and Vietnam War Veteran; retired from Murray City after 21 years of service.

Survived by his loving wife Leola and his sons: Mark Charles Stanley (Candy) of West Jordan, Utah; Eric George Stanley (Rachelle) of West Jordan, Utah; Craig Lee Stanley (Sherrie) of Blanding, Utah; Carl T Stanley (Lynne) of Mtn. Home, Idaho; Michael Dee Stanley (Kristin) of Midvale, Utah; and Kieth Wayne Stanley (Cindy) of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers: Verl "Stan" Stanley of Rexburg, Idaho and Mesa, Arizona; and Terry LaVaughn Stanley of Sandy, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Teddy Mae Baker and son Ted Wayne Stanley.

Funeral Services will be held Thurs. January 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Murray Heritage LDS Ward, 67 W. Clay Park Dr (6350 S) in Murray, Utah. Viewings will be held Wed. night from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home at 4760 S. State St. and then again at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah. Arrangements in care of Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home.
