Mrs. George W. Hatch, 75, died Sunday after a brief illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.F. Maurer, 158 Vogel avenue. She had been a life-long resident of Wapello county.
She was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Alcott Jefferies [sic] and was born November 12, 1860, in Ottumwa.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. W.W. Cummings of Ottumwa and Mrs. Anna Crips of Chicago; one son, George W. Hatch of Ottumwa; five daughters, Mrs. J.W. Cundiff, Mrs. W.F. Maurer, Mrs. Harold B. Simmons, Mrs. Myron Ackley and Mrs. Glenn Hazen, all of Ottumwa, and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Lester Jay funeral home at 3 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Harold Lancaster, D.D. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery.
Pallbearers will be H.E. Maurer, Fleming Biddison, Charles Reifsnyder, Edwin C. Cook, Leighton B. Smith and Guy W. Kitterman.
