Ida Emily was the first daughter & child of Robert John KEARNS & his first wife Emily FIELD. She was born 9 Dec 1891 at Nowgong, Calcutta, Bengal, India. Ida immigrated to Canada with her family. They traveled on the Hesperian (Allan Line) leaving Liverpool 24 Feb 1910 and arrived in Halifax on 5 Mar 1910. They continued their journey by train (CPR), their destination stated as Calgary. From Calgary they went east to the small town of Strathmore, Alberta where they joined Robert's brother, George.
On October 16, 1916 at Strathmore, Ida married Harold William NOCK. Shortly afterward Harold was transferred overseas with the CEF. Ida passed away on Dec 27, 1918 from the dreaded Spanish Influenza. Harold never saw her again. The couple had one child who was raised by her paternal grandparents. Ida was buried in Union Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta the next day. Due to a terrible storm only her father was able to attend the burial.
