JOHN J. ATKINSON
John J. Atkinson, 81, of Cumberland Manor Apartments, Baltimore Avenue, died March 31, 1988, in Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. Born April 8,1907, in Midland, he was the son of the late William J. and Catherine (Byrne) Atkinson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Magdaline Nancy (Witt) Atkinson. Mr. Atkinson retired from Monumental Life Insurance Company after 27 years' service. A veteran of World War II, he was a life member of Henry Hart Post 1411, Veterans of Foreign Wars; and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his widow, Sarah E. Seeders; two brothers, William J. Atkinson, city; R. Everald Atkinson, Frostburg; four stepsons, Jimmie L. Seeders, Knoxville, Tenn.; Richard A Seeders, Knoxville, Tenn; Terry L. Seeders, Donaldson, Ind.; John A. Seeders, city, and five grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. John Reinsfelder. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Michael's Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
