She graduated from RJ Reynolds High School, Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC and Catholic University, Washington, DC receiving a BS degree in Nursing Education. She spent 30 years in various fields of nursing, ten of which were in Public Health Nursing. She served on the faculty of Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA.
She was predeceased by her husband, John A. Daye, brother, Michael A. Angelo, Jr., sisters: Frances Angelo Daye and Margaret (Peggy) Angelo Dyer, and her parents. Surviving are her brother, Thomas Angelo, sisters: Mildred Angelo Lasecki and Dorothy Angelo Cain and numerous nieces and nephews.
Upon retirement, she was a volunteer at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and NC School of the Arts in Winston-Salem. She was on the board of the American Lung Association, Northwest Region in Winston-Salem, an active member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, volunteering as a member of the Parish Council, charter member of St. Theresa's Guild and Golden Club, reading to 3 yr old preschoolers at St. Leo the Great Catholic School and serving many years as coordinator of the Prison Ministry which began in 1991.
Rosary and visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4 from 7-9 pm at Salem Funeral Home, 2599 Reynolda Road. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 5 at 1 pm by Father Brian Cook. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park, Winston-Salem.
