Marguerite went to her heavenly home on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at her home in Indiahoma with her loving family by her side.
Prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel.
Marguerite was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Comanche County to Jacob (Pete Coffey) and Maggie (Niedo) Tahchawwickah. She grew up in Cache and graduated from Cache High School. Marguerite then attended Cameron State Agricultural College. After she met the love of her life, Baldwin Parker Jr., they were married on July 19, 1940. At his death they had been married for 71 years. Marguerite was a full blood member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma. She was a charter member of the Pete Coffey Mennonite Brethren Church and the Comanche Language Preservation Class. She enjoyed singing Comanche hymns, quilting, sewing, cooking, going to Smart Styles to get her hair fixed, shopping at Walmart and spending time with her family and friends.
Marguerite is survived by: 10 children and their spouses: Jacquetta and Carldon McClung, Sandra and Lawrence Chesnut Jr., and Timothy Parker, all of Cache; Ronald Parker, of Gaithersburg, Md.; Harold Parker Sr., Don Parker and Annette Tiddark, of Lawton; Joyce and George McSwain, of Lakeland, Fla.; Ardith and Glen Leming, of Sulphur; and Debra and William Malone, of Wanette; sisters: Rose Nauni, of Cache; Velma Kemble, of Ponca City; and Helen Cable, of Cache; brothers: Pete Coffey Jr., of Ponca City; and Nick Tahchawwickah, of Cache; 39 grandchildren; more than 70 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends; special people in her life: Rebecca L. Parker, of Cache; Paul and Linda Davis, of Abilene, Texas; Louise (Tot-si-ya) Jones, of Jacksonville, Texas; Russell Neese, of El Segundo, Calif.; Chuck Wiltrip and family, of Dexter, N.M.; Carolyn Wilson, and Hanaba Welch, both of Quanah, Texas; Robert Veal and Joan Goody, of Orlando, Fla.; Joan Fredricks, of San Antonio; and Fred and Rosie Schmidt, of Germany.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Baldwin Parker Jr.; parents: Jacob (Pete Coffey) and Maggie Tahchawwickah; children: Buster Evans Parker and Vincent Parker; stepdaughter, Norma Jean Guerrero; brothers: Harry Wauahdooah, Lee Heath and Allen Tahchawwickah; sisters: Sarah Tahchawwickah, Vida Tahchawwickah Woommavovah and Mary Ellen Tahchawwickah Morris; special aunt, Rosella Tahah; and two grandchildren: Richard Hearn and Ronna Sipe.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
