Dale was born in Filer, Idaho on October 5, 1937 to the parents of Everett and Catherine Beachell.
He was one of five children, Bob, Joann, Donna, and Richard. Dale lived with his family in Alameda, California for several years before the family moved to Pleasant Hill, California. Dale attended elementary and high school in Pleasant Hill. He married, Virginia (Parshall) Maitland on June 16, 1962 in Reno, Nevada. Virginia had two children, Leonard & Delilah. Virginia and Dale made their home in Oakland, California until June, 1971 when they purchased a new home in Union City, California.
Dale passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 30, 2012 at Bethesda Christian Retirement Center in Hayward, California.
Dale is survived by his companion Alexia Frank, son Leonard and his wife Paula Maitland, daughter Delilah Gray, cherished grandfather to five granddaughters Darlene and Jay Hutchison, Carrie Kobel, Renee and Frank Primer, Cyndi and Neal Wood and Julie and Jeff Tolle, beloved great-grandfather to, Jamie, Jonel, Anthony, Kayla, Jacob, Zachary, Jaylie, Kaden & Jeremy, one great-great-granddaughter Taylor, Nieces Lujuana & Jacque, and his numerous friends.
Dale worked as a Union Roofer & Water Proofer for approximately 30 years for several San Francisco Bay Area companies. Dale was very proud to be a long time member of the Roofers Local Union 81 in Oakland, California.
Dale's hobbies when he was young included, camping, fishing, scuba diving, duck hunting & taking photos, later in life his enjoyment included computer gaming, astronomy and visiting the local donut shop to share stories & reminisce with friends.
His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
