Lucille Smith, age 88 of Vendor, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas. She was born July 15, 1921 at Vendor, Arkansas, the daughter of H.C. and Martha Jane (Taylor) Norton.
She was a member of the Log Hall Church and was a lifetime resident of Newton County. She was a housewife and enjoyed gardening.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years, Columbus Smith; five brothers, Lester, Earl, Howard, Leonard, and Doc Norton and four sisters, Bertha, Inez, Ava and Ova.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Vivian Smith of Vendor; a daughter and son-in-law, Verdell and Alton Campbell of Jasper; six grandchildren, Theresa and Lonnie Ewing, Randy and Sherrie Campbell, Gary and Shelly Smith, Kimberly and Sam Dye, Darren Campbell and Kellie and Ricky Davis; ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also, surviving are a special nephew who was raised in the Norton home, Robert and Edna Burdine of Harrison and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Norton of Jasper and Ava O'Neal of Vendor.

Funeral Services wil be at 2:00pm Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Rev. Rex Middleton and Rev. Vernon Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Vendor under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:oopm Friday, March 19, 2010 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, Newton County Nursing Home, Dr. Justice and Dr. Clary.
