Mr. Harry Boyko, 91, passed away at Legacy Hospice on January 25, 2014. He was born in Natrona, PA and moved to Ocala in 1987. At Age 18, he enlisted in the Army and served as a Captain in the Army Corps of Engineers in WWII and the Korean Conflict. The Distinguished Unit Badge was one of the numerous medals awarded to him during his time of service. After the war, he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and advanced degrees in Organic Chemistry and Semi-conductor theory. Harry worked as a chemical engineer for RCA and Magnavox. He was an active volunteer for his church and community and was named "Volunteer of the year" in Findlay OH. He served as Senior Warden, outreach coordinator and bible study leader in his church. Harry is survived by his daughter: Kathryn McCarthy of Alexandria, VA. 4 grandchildren: Kristen McCarthy, Mark Miller, Stacey Miller and Tori Norton, and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Lorraine in 2009. A visitation will take place at Roberts Bruce Funeral Home 6241 SW SR 200 (352) 854-2266 on Thursday January 30th from 5-7 PM. A funeral service will take place at Christ the King Anglican Church 3801 N. Hwy 441 in Ocala on Friday January 31st at 10AM.
