Harold J. Williams, 70, of LeRoy, passed away, Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Life Care Center in Burlington, Kansas.

He was born February 6, 1943 in Fulton, Kansas the son of Arthur and Ethel (Wurtz) Williams.

Harold graduated from Fluton Senior High School in 1961.

He was joined in marriage to Juanita Gilliland on June 6, 1964 in Kincaid, Kansas.

During the early years of their marriage Harold worked at a cold storage facility in Kansas City. He later worked at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant in DeSoto until moving to LeRoy in 1973. He worked at the LeRoy High School as a custodian for five years and later worked for Clarkson Construction during the building of the Wolf Creek Power Plant. Harold dealt in scrap and salvage for many years and worked in power plant outages around the country for fifteen years before retiring in 2009.

Harold was a member of the Kansas Horse Shoe Pitching Association.

He will be missed by his wife, Juanita Williams of LeRoy and two sons, Mike and Danny Williams of LeRoy. Other survivors include, three sisters, LaVaughn Peak of Lawrence, Mary Hazelwood, Kansas City, MO, and Phyllis Ladd, Shawnee, Kansas; three brothers, Arthur Williams,Jr., of Kansas City, MO, Dennis Williams, Ontario, California and Pat Williams, Peculiar, MO. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Genevieve, Evelyn and Geraldine; five brothers, Carlton, Donny, Roy, Everitt and Albert.
