After their marriage, E. R. and his wife moved to Mason City, Iowa. They returned to South Dakota in 1909. They initially lived in Athol and finally settled in Huron in about 1913.
E. R. was survived by one son, Wesley Lockwood of Los Angeles, California, three daughters, Gladys Booth of Athol, South Dakota, Gertrude Bancroft of Compton, California and Lila Elizabeth Wilhelm of Huron, South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by a son, Wellie, who died in Mason City, Iowa.
