Cleo Ellen Ferguson, 92, of East Peoria passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.

Cleo was born June 10, 1921, in Tuscola, Ill., the daughter of Daniel W. and Doris M. Milstead Watters. She married Sims Ferguson on Nov. 1, 1938, in Galopolis, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1997.

She is survived by one son, Glen (Debra) of East Peoria; three daughters, Marie (Harold) Butler of East Peoria, Linda (Dale) Wiesehan of Peoria, and Carolyn (Tim) Maltby of East Peoria; four sisters, Pauline Spraklin of Peoria, Hilda Frank of Wisconsin, Connie Hochstetler of Pekin and Patricia Rothenberg of Pekin; two sisters-in-law, Betty Watters of Chillicothe and Cecelia Watters of Creve Coeur; and three brothers, Gerald (Rita) Watters of Colorado, Clint Watters of Texas, and Andrew Watters of Arizona. Cleo was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, David, and four brothers.

She was a past member of the Mary Martha Sewing Circle at the old Pleasant Hill Mennonite Church and the Red Hats Society.

Cleo was an avid gardener and a great cook.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
