Abraham O. Lower
Dies of Gunshot

MERIDIAN (Special) – Abraham Olaf Lower, 60, longtime Meridian area farmer, took his own life at 9 a.m. Wednesday with a 30-30 caliber rifle at his home, Meridian, route 1, Ada county Coroner Clyde E. Summers reported.
Summers said Mr. Lower had been despondent due to ill health recently. The coroner termed the death suicide and said no inquest would be held.
Mr. Lower was born Sept. 24, 1891, in Blooming Prairie, Minn., and moved to the Boise valley in 1910, farming in this area since. He was a member of the Lutheran church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel I. Lower, Meridian; a son, Kenneth Earl Lower, Star; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Ellensohn, Meridian, and Mrs. Katherine Griffith, Payette; four brothers, Selmer Lower of Ogden, Utah; Gilbert B. Lower of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; Kenneth Lower of St. James, Minn., and Carl Lower of Caldwell; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Morgan of Boise; Miss Alvida Lower of Des Moines, Iowa, and Miss Lillian Lower of Trista, Italy, and five grandchildren. Summers chapel is arranging services.
