Myrtle Marie Ellensohn
Myrtle Marie Ellensohn, age 100 years, passed away on October 2, 2021 of natural causes at her home in Eagle, Idaho. Myrtle was born in Boise, Idaho on October 6, 1920 to Abraham and Ethel Smith Lower. On February 14, 1925, her family moved to a farm on North Ten Mile Road in Meridian, Idaho. She attended Upper Fairview School through the 8th grade, followed by Meridian High School and then Boise Business University. Following university she worked for the John Deere Company and the State of Idaho.
Myrtle married Frank W. Ellensohn on December 22, 1945. In 1950, Frank and Myrtle took over the Ten Mile Farm from Myrtle's parents and continued to farm until Frank's death on October 12, 1984. She then built a house next to her daughter, Kathy Ellensohn, in Eagle, Idaho where she lived until her death.
Myrtle is survived by her daughters Kathleen Ellensohn (Tim Fease) and Janice Hall (Drew) of Eagle, Idaho. Her grandchildren, Lena Gandiaga (Kris), Kristin Sword (Scott), Starla Olson (Michael), Sunny Hall, Nikki Gilbert (Jason), Kelsey Fease, Leslie Fease (Curtiss Marlowe), and James Fease. Myrtle is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Frank W. Ellensohn, parents Abraham and Ethel Lower, brother Kenneth Lower, sister-in-law Inez Lower and sister Katherine Griffith Powell.
The family wishes to thank her caregiver Tiffany Patterson, the staff at Trinity Home Care & Resource, and St Luke's Hospice. Their care and guidance made it possible for Mom to stay in her home until her passing.
There will be a viewing at Cloverdale Funeral Home 1200 N Cloverdale Road in Boise on October 11, 2021, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Cloverdale Memorial Park on October 12, 2021, at 10:00 am.
