Supposedly, Antoine died in the woods outside Baie-de-St-Paul, when the inhabitants fled and hid from the British troops.

Antoine Bouchard, 77 one of the first cultivateurs [farmers] at Baie-St-Paul, died in a cabin in the forest, where he and other residents of his parish had taken refuge as the English approached. (Quebec) Register)
