Mr. Cuthbert died Sunday, November 12, 1989, in the Highland Hospital in Shreveport.
He was a retired banker and past president of the First Republic Bank of Rayville.
He was born March 10, 1915, in Shreveport, and had resided in Richland Parish for a number of years. He was a member of the Rayville United Methodist Church, where he served as trustee. He was past president of the Rayville Kiwanis Club, Masonic Lodge No. 179, F & AM, of Shreveport; and a veteran of World War II, retiring from the U.S. Army as a major.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Hawthorne Cuthbert of Rayville; two sons, James J. Cuthbert III of Monroe and Robert Warren (Bob) Cuthbert of White Oak, Tex.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Boyde McIlveene of White Oak, Tex.; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Cecil Watts, Dr. J. E. Ball, George Gladney, L. Yancey, Billy Joe Watkins, E. A. Woodard, Glenn Dunmire and Lasley Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers were Reuben Walters and other directors, officers and employees of the First Republic Bank of Rayville.
