Lucy M., widow of Edwin Hodgdon, died at her home on Water street, August 28, after a short illness of pneumonia, aged 57 years, 10 days. The deceased wasa native of Newfield, teh daughter of Charles G. and Mary Ann (Ross) Day. She leaves eight children, namley Geo W. of Springvale, Fred W. of Rochester N. H., Irving of Springvale, Eva, wife of George Scott, of Rochester, N H., Alice, wife of Charles Nelson, of Biddeford; Bert, of Lynn, Mass.; Ruth, wife of Sherman R. Spaulding, of Springvale, and John of Littleton, N. H. She leaves also a brother, Samuel R. Day, of Springvale. The funeral was held from the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. H. F. Huse conducting teh ceremony, assisted by Rev. J. B. Ranger.
