Services were conducted at the Williams home in Gettysburg Monday, May 23, at 2:30 p.m. With Rev Robert Raynor of Christ Episcopal church officiating.
Carolyn B. Ayres was born at Knightstown, Indiana, November 17, 1867, the daughter of Mr& Mrs Henley Hartley Ayres. She came to Gettysburg with her parents in 1883 and was one of the earliest school teachers in this area.
She was married to Andrew G. Williams at Blunt S.D., in 1886. They were lifelong residents of Gettysburg. Mr. Willims died in 1933.
During her life Mrs. Williams was an active church worker and
Served on the school board. She was a charter member of the Gettysburg Women's Literary Club and Waneta Chapter, O.E.S.
Mrs Williams is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bush of Louisville , Kentucky and Mrs Mathew J. Hoffman, Milwaukee; and two sons Jay H. Williams, Sioux Falls, and Don Williams, Delray Beach, Flordia.
