Funeral Services for Malcolm Collier Austin, 86, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Ridge Avenue Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Dr. Greg Clark and Henry Chriceol officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Calhoun under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Mr. Austin died January 19, 2014 at the St. Francis Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Austin was a member of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 44 years, was a Sunday school teacher, trustee, and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class. He was ordained a Deacon in 1964 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Waco, TX and also served as a deacon at Versailles Baptist Church in Versailles, KY. Malcolm retired from International Paper after 38 years, where he was a Quality Supervisor. Malcolm loved hunting with his sons, gardening, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Eula Austin; brothers, William Leslie Austin and Tim Austin; four sisters, Lettie Aswell, Mary Hanes, Eugenia Fredericks, and Louise DeVille; and grandchild, Andrea Renae Austin.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucille C. Austin; sons, Dr. David Austin and wife Susan, Glenn F. Austin and wife Debbie, and Brent A. Austin and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Heather Austin Wilson and husband Chris, Casey Austin, Jonathan Austin, Jason Austin and wife Ruoxi, and Michaela Austin, and Daniel Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Austin, Jason Austin, Daniel Austin, Randy Brown, Marcus Chriceol, and Art Chriceol. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons and the members of the Fellowship Sunday School class at Ridge Avenue Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
