Elizabeth West Jones married Jesse Anderson in 1791. A year later Elizabeth's brother Llewellyn, married Jesse's sister Mary Lightfoot Anderson.

As many as five of her children were married by Presbyterian Rev. William S. Reid between 1818 and 1827, and two others by Episcopalian Rev. Nicholas Hamner Cobbs between 1828 and 1837. Elizabeth's second marriage to Benjamin Gardiner in 1832 was also carried out by Rev Cobbs at St. Stephens Episcopal Church.

According to Elizabeth's daughter Mary, the family resided in Bedford County, within three miles of where Elizabeth's mother, Frances Barber Jones, lived. As of 1889, a high school had been built on the land previously owned by the Andersons.

The transcribed marriage record, extracted from the appendix in Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Vol VI, Virginia. (Marriages are NOT Quaker), reads:

Jun. 21, 1791; Jesse Anderson & Elizabeth Jones, dt John; Thomas Johnson, Surety; Married by James Mitchell, June 23, 1791.

Apr. 2, 1832; Benjamin Gardiner & Elizabeth W. Anderson; William B. Whitten, Surety; Married by Nicholas H. Cobbs, April 4, 1832.

From the marriage and obituary citations compiled by Bernard J. Henley from Virginia newspapers on microfilm at the Library of Virginia.
Lynchburg Virginian, Published Monday, April 9, 1832:
Married - At Oakley (near Lynchburg) on Wednesday, April 4, by Rev. Nicholas H. Cobbs, Maj. Benjamin Gardner, to Mrs. Elizabeth W. Anderson. (p. 3, c 5)

Note that "Oakley" was the home of Elizabeth's daughter, Mary Lightfoot Anderson Garland.
