Dale W Dredge, 76, 2294 Christopher Drive, died in Galesburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at 1:13 am on 5 Oct 1990. He was born 3 Jan 1914 in Knox County, the son of Fred and Sara Belle (Means) Dredge. He married Frances Christ on 8 Sept 1939 in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Terry Dredge, Wataga, and two granddaughters.
He owned and operated Widmer and Dredge Implement dealership in Maquon for 19 years. He also worked for Spoon River FS in Maquon, Knoxville, and Wataga. He sold insurance and was a member of the board of directors of Knox County Mutual Insurance Co, Galesburg, since 1967.
He was Maquon Township clerk for 27 years, and was a Republican precinct committeeman for several years. He was a member of Maquon United Methodist Church. He became a master Mason in Schiller Lodge 355, Peoria, in April 1945, and transferred to Maquon Lodge 53. He also was a member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Peoria; Mohammed Shrine, Peoria; El Bon Shrine Club, Galesburg, and Mohammed Shriners Broilers Club. He was past president of Mohammed Shrine Traffic and Transportation Club, and past patron of the former Eastern Star Chapter in Maquon.
Funeral was held at Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, with the Rev. Norman Mendell officiating. Masonic rites were conducted by Maquon Masonic Lodge 53. Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Shrine Children's Hospital the family said.
