Mrs. E. B. Crissey Widow of Well Known Banker
Dies at Her Home on lake View Avenue at the Age of 82 Years.
Mrs. Mary Langworthy Crissey, widow of Elverton B. Crissey died this morning at 4:10 o'clock at her home. 208 Lake View avenue, at the age of 8 ! years. 9 months and 22
days. She was the mother of Mrs. Frank Merz, Mrs. Henry P . Robertson and Harold E. Crissey. who survive her. An older son. Harlow J. Crissey died 9 years ago in Fredonia.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren and four, great grand-children.
All her life, she had been a resident of Chautauqua county with the exception of seven years spent in Missouri, when she and Mr. Crissey settled on a pioneer claim there
shortly after their marriage. Mrs. Crissey was born in the town of Charlotte, March 29. 1844 . the daughter of Jacob and Cornelia Love Langworthy. Her marriage to Mr. Crissey took place at Sinclairville in 1860. Mr. Crissey's death occurring here in 1908. They took up then- residence to Jamestown in 1891. where Mr. Crissey founded the Farmers & Mechanics bank. which he served as president for many years. Mrs. Crissey was a member of the First Congregational church, the Mozart club and board of trustees of the W.CA . hospital.
Altho she bad been In frail health for. several years, her final illness covered only a period of about five weeks. Essentially a home-loving person, her unfailing optimism, keen mind, appreciation of beauty and worth made her a delightful companion to those Who were privileged to be her friends.
The funeral will be held Monday at 2:30 p. m. from the home.
