Anita Callahan Campbell-Guidry, 88, a resident of Lake Charles passed away in her residence surrounded by her family.
Anita was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her joy in life was cooking for her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Anita will be remembered for her old fashioned devotion to family and friends.
Anita leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Doris Canik of Many and Geraldine Campbell of Lake Charles, one son, James Campbell of Lake Charles, five grandchildren: Monica Fruge, Stacie Conner and husband Tim, Bridgette Webb and Chris Comeaux, Rafe C. Canik, and Chase Campbell, ten great grandchildren, one brother, Hubert Callahan, a host of nieces and nephews and her extended family of her late husband Emory Guidry.
She is preceded in death by her husbands Gerald "Jerry" Campbell and Emory Guidry, her sister, Joyce Gaspard, and her parents, Edovic and Regina Bourque Callahan.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Trouille officiating. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 5:30PM. Visitation will continue from 8:00 AM Friday until time of service.
