Funeral services for Julius L. Whitaker, 94, who died at the home of his son, Marion Whitaker, in the Mills River section on Sunday morning, will be held at the Sycamore Baptist Church Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, with the Rev. J. J. Wood officiating.
Pallbearers will be Henry Gillespie, Clifford Field, Rudd, George, Ed and Tom Whitaker. Burial will be in the Whitaker Cemetery.
A native of Rutherford County, Mr. Whitaker was the son of the late Solomon and Dicie Owenby Whitaker. He is survived by two daughters; Mrs. C. C. Pearce and Mrs. Ed Clark of Mullberry, Fla.; five sons, Marion Whitaker of Horse Shoe, Blaine Whitaker of Hendersonville, Carroll Whitaker of Shelby, Frank Whitaker of Union, S. C., and Paul Whitaker of Akron, Ohio; one brother, King Whitaker of Asheville; three sisters, Mrs. Lou Carland of Greensboro, Ga., and Mrs. Julia Galloway and Mrs. Julius Barton of Brevard.
