Born in Italy, February 15, 1887, he was a son of the late Joseph and Catherine Gentile.
A retired coal miner, he was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local St. Thomas Catholic Church, and St. Thomas Aquinas, 1433.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Catherine DeMare, Cleveland; three sons, Joseph Gentile. Cleveland; James Gentile, Oxon Hill, Md., and Larry Gentile Jr., Weirton: one brother, Sam Gentile, Pittsburgh, and 14 grandchildren.
The body is at the Duncan Funeral Home, Thomas, where friends will be received today and tomorrow.
A service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles J. Schneider, pastor St. Thomas, officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemeteryin Thomas.
