Nellie Augusta Gleaves passed away at the age of 89 at the Evergreen Carson City Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carson City, NV. She was born in Roll County, Oklahoma to Guy Clifford and Lilly (Guest) McClellan on January 3, 1916. She was raised and attended high schools in Strong City, OK, where she graduated from Strong City High School. Nellie was a resident of Vallejo, CA from 1947 until 2002. She worked at the Mare Island Naval Ammunition Depot in Vallejo and raised her 5 children. She retired in 1976. She loved being with her grandchildren and making them happy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Gleaves, her parents Guy and Lilly McClellan, brothers: LaVonne, Roy and Bill McClellan, sister Ruby Poling and son- in-law Leonard West. Among her survivors are her sister, Elva Morgan of Edmunds, OK, sisters-in-laws Elaine McClellan of Oklahoma City, OK, and Kathleen McClellan of Wichita Falls, TX. Daughters and sons-in-law, JoNell I. and Ronald H. Smith Poquoson, VA, Doris M. and Donald McDermott of Carson City, NV. Daughter, Joyce C. West of Vacaville, Ca. Sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy and Jackie Gleaves of Camino, CA. and James A. Fronie Gleaves of Vacaville, CA. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
