OBITUARIES

GUY C. McCLELLAN
Services for Guy C. McClellan, 81, of 317 Peach, Midwest City, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cheyenne Baptist Church in Cheyenne with burial in Strong City Cemetery directed by Paylor Funeral Home. He died Saturday at Midwest City Memorial Hospital.
A native of Hidewill, Kansas, McClellan came to Midwest City in 1951 and was a retired hardware salesman. He was a member of Strong City Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Gleaves, Vallejo, Calif., Mrs. Ruby Polling, Amarillo, Texas; and Mrs. Ruth Cofer, Midwest City; two sons, Roy of Oklahoma City, and Billy of Bremerton, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Clem, Rockyford,(sic) Colorado; Mrs. Nellie Klewno, Boulder, Colorado; and Mrs. Lucille Smith, Cheyenne; four brothers, Lester and Russell, both of Cheyenne, Claude of Sacramento, Calif., and Fred of Mount View, Mo.; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Strong City Cemetery
In 1914 a Plot of land was set aside for the Strong City Cemetery. The first grave was William Ragan who was buried in 1914. On Oct 9, 1923 a deed was given by F.E. & Mollie L. Herrieng making this plot forever a cemetery. On April 23, 1941 Andy C. and Lula M. Prestridge sold to the Cemetery Board, a track of land direct east of the first part to be used as an addition. Some of the earlier board members were: W.M. Crabb, W.M. Brooks, D.N. Hunt, Mrs. John Caffey, H.V. Jobe, J.A. Ragan, William H. "Bill" Anderson, Guy McClellan, Dephia Burns, Paul Hunt, and Teresa Hensley. The present board (1997) is Earl Archer, Nelda Davis and Alene Robinson.
