Mrs. Mary Sponeman, 74, of Collinsville died Wednesday at 4:30 a.m. at St. Mary's hospital, East St. Louis.
She was born March 24, 1883 in Collinsville township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Dina Horstmann) Wesemann. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1953.
Surviving are three sons, Henry, Clarence and Wilbur, all of Collinsville; three daughters, Mrs. R.B. (Alma) Deese of Qulin, Mo., Miss Amanda Sponemann of Collinsville and Mrs. Conrad (Martha) Kueker of Troy; one brother, Irvin Hartmann, and two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Julia) Best and Mrs. Emma Holtgrave, all of Collinsville. Seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
Friends may call at the Herr funeral home, Collinsville, after 7 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Saturday when the body will be taken to Holy Cross Lutheran church there, of which the deceased was a member, for 2 p.m. service. The Rev. K.C. Weinrich, Troy, will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross cemetery.
