  C.W.E. Sponemann, 77, of 407 North Aurora street, Collinsville, died suddenly at his home Tuesday at 4:45 a.m.
  He was born June 15, 1875 in Collinsville township, the son of the late Christian and Louise Sponemann. He married Mary Wesemann Sept. 11, 1902, who survives. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
  Besides his wife he is survived by three sons Henry, Clarence and Wilbur, all of Collinsville; three daughters, Mrs. Alma Deese of Zulin, Mo., Mrs. Martha Kueker of Troy and Miss Amanda Sponemann, at home; one sister, Mrs. Emma Hafer of East St. Louis, and five grandchildren.
  Mr. Sponemann resided on the farm on which he was born in Pleasant Ridge until three years ago when he moved to his Collinsville address.
  The body may be viewed at the Herr funeral home in Collinsville after 6 p.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. Friday when it will be taken to the Holy Cross Lutheran church for services at 2 p.m. The Rev. W.A. Raedeke will officiate.
  Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery.
