December 12, 1990:

Darlena K. Sloan, 39, of Thorntown died Dec. 4, 1990, in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 65 and Indiana 32 in Boone County.

Born Jan. 27, 1951, she was a lifelong resident of Boone County and a 1969 graduate of Thorntown High School. Her marriage was on June 27, 1970, in Thorntown to Randy Sloan, who survives.

She had worked at Citizens Insurance Co. in Indianapolis for the past three years. Before that she worked 13 years at Ohio Casualty Insurance Co. in Indianapolis.

She was a member of Thorntown Baptist Church, where she was very active and was a Sunday School teacher.

Surviving with her husband are one son, one daughter, her father and stepmother, her mother, four brothers, and 12 sisters including Goldie Ford of Bringhurst. A brother preceded her in death.

Services and burial were Saturday in Thorntown.
