[Joseph, the first son and eldest of eight children of Timothy Baldwin and Susannah Frost was born on 24 July 1734 at Canterbury, Connecticut.
Joseph was the second husband Thankful Clark. Thankful's first husband, James Baldwin, son of John and Mary (Adams) Baldwin died in 1761. Joseph and Thankful married on 1 June 1763 at Canterbury, Connecticut. They had four daughters:
1. Mary (alias Mollie) Baldwin (b. 29 May 1764, Canterbury, CT; d. 1838), m. 4 May 1786 at Canterbury, CT, Samuel Carter (1755-1834)
2. Lydia Baldwin (b. 16 Jun 1767, Norwichtown, CT; d. 1858), m. 7 Apr 1791 at Newent, CT, Joseph Hebbard/Hibberd (1763-1811)
3. Phebe Baldwin (b. 8 Jun 1769, Norwichtown, CT), m. 21 Apr 1809 at Windham, CT, Capt. Joseph Butts (1770-)
4. Eunice Baldwin (b. 29 Nov 1773, Norwichtown, CT; d. 1850), m. 12 Apr 1796 at Newent, CT, John Felch (1770-1849)
Joseph Baldwin died on 23 November 1804 in his 70th year at Canterbury, Connecticut. He is buried in the Baldwin Cemetery at Canterbury, Windham, Connecticut.
