Florence Hatch Walker
BOUNTIFUL--Florence Hatch Walker died Monday, October 25, 1999 at age 85. Florence was born July 5, 1914 in Bountiful, Utah. She married Robert Ross Walker, Sr., on June 28, 1930 and later on May 14, 1960, they were sealed together in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Florence held many positions in the LDS Church but worked mostly with her great love, the youth.
Robert and Florence were married for 66 years, when on February 28, 1996, her husband passed away. Florence has lived under the care of her family since that time and has blessed everyone with her wit and loving humor. During her last years, she enjoyed many hours of reminiscing with children and grandchildren. Her stories of her childhood and growing up are a great strength to those who loved her. Though her body wore out her mind remained keen and clear until near the end.
Florence is survived by six children: Robert, Jr., and (Barbara) Walker, Sherel and (Ray) Francom, Molly and (Jerry) Lara, Judy and (Kean) Evans, Jim Walker and Gayla and (David) Bastian. She has 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 1999 at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where friends may call from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. prior to services. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
