George Kettle, 80, Prairie Rd., Rt. 3, Janesville, was dead on arrival at Mercy Hospital Monday evening after an apparent heart attack at his home.
He was born June 20, 1893, and was a lifelong Janesville area resident. He was married Dec. 27, 1912, in Rockford to Alena Schachtschneider. Mr. Kettle was employed at Northern Conveyer Co. until its closing in 1951, and then at Amphenol Borg Corporation until retiring in 1961. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Mr. and Mrs. Kettle observed their 61st wedding anniversary last month.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, William J. and Ted, both of Janesville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don, rural Milton, and Walter, Arkdale; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Vobian and Mrs. Evelyn Aegerter, both of Janesville.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in St. John Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Wolfgram Funeral Home.
