Joseph E. Barron, 65, of Ellen Street, Hellertown, died Sunday, Aug. 18, in St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Gertrude M. (Sheridan) Barron.
He was an electrician at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 30 years before retiring in 1984.
Born in Easton, he was a son of Hilda I. (Schneider) Barron King of Hellertown and the late Walter C. Barron.
He was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Hellertown, a past president of its Holy Name Society and a member of its Cursillo.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Trinity Counsel 313, Bethlehem, and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Lehigh Valley Assembly 931, Allentown.
A Navy Air Corps veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Edward Ackerman Post 397 of the American Legion, Hellertown, and the Dewey Fire Co.
Survivors: Wife and mother; sons, Steven of Acworth, Ga., Douglas and Joseph E. Jr., both of Allentown, and Philip of Biloxi, Miss.; daughter, Marie, wife of Douglas King of Hellertown; brother, Norman King of Coudersport, Potter County; sister, Judith, wife of Steven Molder of Easton; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Services: 9 a.m. Wednesday, Falk Funeral Home, 1418 Main St., Hellertown; Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the church. Call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
