Obituary: Jefferson City Post Tribune Wednesday Feb. 21 1996

Roman J. Warden, 84, Jefferson City, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Care Center, St. Elizabeth. He was born Jan. 14, 1912, in St. Elizabeth, the son of Thomas and Gertrude Wilbers Warden. He was married March 31, 1949, in Jefferson City, to Nora Bailey, who died July 17, 1987.

A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, he attended St. Elizabeth School. He worked for International Shoe Company and with Shopsmith, Inc., retiring in 1977. He also was a farmer.

Survivors include: one stepson, Joe C. Allison, Jefferson City; two stepdaughters, Fran Etter, Lake Ozark, and Kathy Thomas, Jefferson City; two sisters, Rose Twehous, St. Elizabeth, and Josephine Bolts, Jefferson City; one brother, Frank Warden, Wardsville; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Donald Lammers will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens (Jefferson City).
