A funeral for Ottie Gertrude Dovel Kite, 89, of Oak Lea Nursing Home in Harrisonburg will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mount Sinai United Methodist Church.

The Revs. Betty VanHook and Raymond Edmonds will conduct the service. Burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Kite died Thursday evening at the nursing home, where she had been a patient for one year. She also had lived at the Virginia Mennonite Home for 12 years.

Mrs. Kite was born July 10, 1899, at Elkton and was a daughter of the late Calvin Bird and Emma Stover Dovel.

She was a member of Mount Sinai United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school.

On April 21, 1925, she married Lloyd L. Kite, who died Aug. 22, 1971.

Surviving are a daughter, Wanda Gault of Mount Crawford; a half sister, Jeanetta Shifflett of Penn Laird; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today at the Long Funeral Home on Va. 276 near Mount Crawford.
