Miss Alice Knowles, retired Seattle teacher of deaf children, died Tueday in Ocean Grove, N.J.
Miss Knowles retired in 1939 after teaching more than 20 years for the Seattle Public Schools. Her work was at the Minor School.
Miss Knowles, a New Jersey native, taught at the Oregon State School for the Deaf in Salem before coming to Seattle. She was a former member of the First Methodist Church here.
Survivors are a sister, Mrs. C. N. McGuire, Pennington, N.J., and a niece."
